So What's Up With Open Houses Anyway?

I don't know about your experience with Open Houses right now, but I talk with agents all the time about their Open House experiences, and I'm noticing a trend. I must admit that I too have had the same experience, and that is that you go to all the trouble of advertising, listing the open with MLS and Realtor.com, and you lug all those signs out, and then only one or two guests show up! We blame the hot weather, the cold weather, the rain, the wind..... Could it be that Buyer's just aren't as "in to" open houses as they once were? Think about it. Almost every semi-competent agent is using virtual tours and multiple internet sources that allow for additional property photos. People go to "open houses" in their jammies now with a cup of hot chocolate! Is this a good thing for us as agents? Or are we now missing out on what used to be one of our primary ways of generating new leads? Are you doing something different to attract Buyer's (or neighbors) to your open house? Is it working? Post your comments and let us know what you think.

Warmly,

Setting Some Ground Rules

Making this assent together should be an uplifting experience for all. To make sure we all enjoy the journey as we climb to the top, please be sure to follow these simple ground rules:

  1. Always respect the point of view of others. Take care to make sure your comments do not criticize the views of another guest.
  2. Always be mindfull of the Realtor Code of Ethics. Be sure your remarks do not focus on or name any individual or company.
  3. Always endeavor to be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem!

Now grab your gear, and lets climb!

Why Do We Delta Agents Need a Forum?

With so many changes happening in and around our industry, I decided to create a place where Agents who work in the Delta area can share ideas, address concerns, and bring up issues that affect us, our clients, and our profession. Agents willing to share successes to help other agents learn are welcome here any time! Agents who have questions or concerns they hope to see answered or addressed are also counted among our welcome guests. My hope is that as we move forward together to face the challenges of our changing marketplace, we will each reach a higher summit because we have climbed together! Join with me in the climb, and bring along a friend and colleague. We'll Celebrate our Successes at the Top!
